Ahh! It is FINALLY here. Can you smell it? Oh yes, a charcoal grill being it… Feel it? The warm air and direct sun hitting your skin….Hear it? Music playing around the neighborhood as people smile and embrace in HUGS with exchanges such as, “it’s been too long”, or just tears…..! See it? Fireworks, children running through a sprinkler, or a fire hydrant opened by friendly firefighters to help cool off the neighboring kids as when I was a child. Those familiar beats of summer with families reunited around a grill, pool, lake, or just relaxing at your own house. Yes, normalcy, as least in some semblance, has returned to the US in time for all of us to enjoy the summer with our friends and families.
In typical years, the 4th serves as the “unofficial” halfway point of the summer, but this year is different. It feels as if a new beginning in on the horizon, familiar, mysterious, yet hopeful! And the ideal time to take a step back and remind everyone to fully embrace this future, their friends, and families this summer and enjoy your time with them, regardless of what obstacles kept everyone apart in the past.
