April 22, 2020 will be the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day
Back on April 22nd 1970, 20 million Americans took to the streets, college campuses and hundreds of cities to protest environmental ignorance and demand a new way forward for our planet. Earth Day is every April 22nd , and is credited with launching the modern environmental movement, and is now recognized as the planet’s largest civic event. Fast forward 50 years later, and look how many of us are helping to support the environment by recycling, using your own grocery bags, carrying a reusable water bottle or coffee cup to cut down on waste. Not to mention the planting of trees and volunteering for a cleanup day in your community.
